More about Sigtuna

SIGTUNA TOWN – OLDER THAN STOCKHOLM

Standing at the junction of Lake Mälaren´s main navigation channels, Sigtuna was strategically sited to be
Sweden´s first capital. And today Sigtuna is close to most places in the Mälar Valley. It’s a 15-minute journey from Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and just 40 minutes from Stockholm and Uppsala.

Our hotel stands in the town centre, as any good Town Hotel should. You will be staying on the main street, Stora Gatan, which follows exactly the same line as when the town was founded in the 10th century. There are museums and old ruined churches close by, but today the street is also full of small boutiques, cafes and a busy cultural life.
