Nordic tones in harmony with the rhythm of the seasons
There is laughter at the table a little further away, where a larger group is at the end of dinner. Although it is easy to associate Sigtuna with the lighter months, especially considering the restaurant's lovely view of Lake Mälaren, one should not underestimate the white tablecloths in the dining room during winter and their balmy effect on the soul. A given destination for romantic meetings.
Friendly staff adds to the cozy feeling. The five-star city hotel uses bright, Nordic tones and manages to combine its more than a century of history with modern design. The Nordic light is also noticeable in the menu, which, under new head chef Cecilia Wennström, places even greater emphasis on local seasonal ingredients.
The menus have beautiful poetic names such as Forest, Meadow, and Field. Forest contains the king himself, namely a pink-roasted elk fillet with a pleasantly high game flavor that is further enhanced by a thyme cloud and juniper butter. Accessories are creamy almond potato croquettes laced with Västerbotten cheese, grilled black radish, celeriac cream, and raw black currants.
There's really only one thing we regret – that we didn't plan to stay overnight.
